PLYMOUTH Leander swimmers Tom Fannon and Ben Proud are part of a 16-strong British squad who will compete at the Luxembourg Euro Meet this weekend.
British Swimming are taking a mix of young and experienced athletes to the first European long course event of 2018.
The competition, which will be held at National Sports and Culture Centre d’Coque, will start on Friday (January 26) and run through to Sunday.
The event is in its 20th year and attracts many of Europe’s top swimmers.
British Swimming’s head coach Bill Furniss said: “This meet is an important one for many reasons – it’s the first long course competition of the year for our swimmers and will help develop the arena skills to succeed on the international stage.
“We have goals in mind for each of our swimmers so will be working to ensure everyone has the chance to work on individual aspects of their race plans.”
Also included in the squad is former Plymouth College swimmer Charlotte Atkinson.
