DAVID KING has flown out to Serbia with the Great Britain athletics team for this weekend’s European Indoor Championships in Belgrade.
The City of Plymouth athlete will compete in the men’s 60m hurdles event, which will take place on Friday.
The heats will be at the start of the afternoon/evening session and the final the last race of the first day.
King is joined in the sprint hurdles by fellow Great Britain athletes Andy Pozzi and David Omoregie. All three are in the world’s top 20 this year, with Pozzi leading the rankings.
Europe does fill 13 of the top 20 spots in the world, so competition in Belgrade is going to be tough.
Multi-eventer Ashley Bryant was named Great Britain’s captain ahead of their departure on Wednesday.
The BBC will be showing the championships, which run through to Sunday night, on BBC2 and their website.
