Plymouth Leander’s Fannon named in GB squad for Indianapolis event

Tom FannonPLYMOUTH Leander’s Tom Fannon has been named in a 41-strong British swimming squad that will travel to Indianapolis for the latest round of the US Pro Swim Series.

British Swimming are taking a mixed team of established senior internationals and up-and-coming youngsters to America for this week’s event.

Joining Fannon in the squad is his former Plymouth College team-mate Joe Hulme, who is now at the University of Bath.

Another ex-Plymouth College swimmer, Calum Jarvis, is also in the party.

British Swimming head coach Bill Furniss said: “It’s a new competition for us and will offer a considerable test as we’re expecting a good standard of competition in Indianapolis.

“It will be good to bring the senior and the podium potential squads together where they will be interacting as one group.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for the younger swimmers to learn from their more experienced team-mates but I know the seniors will also learn from the younger athletes.”
