PLYMPTON Athletic got their Devon League football season off to a winning start on Saturday by beating Bere Alston 1-0 in a tight match at Lee Moor.
Plympton went in front on 15 minutes with a goal from Dom Lapthorne.
But Bere Alston will have been gutted to have left Lee Moor empty handed after upping their performance second half and dominating territory.
They did have their chances to draw level and only a great save from the Plympton goalkeeper and the crossbar denied them.
