PLYMOUTH Argyle remain at the foot of the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division after losing 4-1 away at Cheltenham Town on Sunday.
The Pilgrims, who were runners-up last season, have yet to pick up a single point this term after wholesale changes in the summer.
They went behind at Bishop’s Cleeve after just 15 minutes when Charlotte Salisbury-Williams netted for the home team.
Argyle did pull level in the 39th minute when Laura Curnock netted a penalty, but their hopes of going in at the break all-square were hit when Emily Owen scored a second for Cheltenham a minute before half-time.
After the interval, Owen added her second before Chloe Snook bagged Cheltenham’s fourth in the 60th minute to put the game beyond Argyle.
In FAWNL Division One South West, there was agony for Marine Academy Plymouth who were denied the win at Maidenhead United in the fifth minute of added-on time.
Marine looked like they were going to claim only their second league win of the season when Samantha Drewery gave them an early first half lead.
But Izzy Scokham broke their hearts with an equaliser deep in injury-time.
In South West Women’s League Division One South, Plymouth Marjon lost top spot after they were beaten 1-0 at home by Feniton on Sunday.

Plympton were beaten 3-2 away at Bideford, with Olive Endacott and Lilly Williams scoring their goals, while SB Frankfort went down 3-1 at home to in-form Crediton United. Rachel Finch scored SB Frankfort’s only goal.
The only two unbeaten teams in the Devon West Division met at Fillace Park on Sunday, where Horrabridge Rangers and Elm Fusion played out a highly-competitive 1-1 draw.
Heidi Davies had given Horrabridge a 1-0 half-time lead, but Elm came back in the second period to grab a share of the points.
Drake FC enjoyed a 7-3 away victory at Plainmoor, with Erin Rumble hitting four for them. Charlie Elson, Jamie-Leigh Blight and Amy Zimmerman were their other scorers in Torbay.
