CITY of Plymouth athlete Emily Bee won an individual silver medal and team gold for England at the SIAB International Multi Events Championships in Glasgow.
Bee took silver in the over-16 girls’ pentathlon after producing a fine 800m run in the final event.
She was only beaten overall by her England team-mate Abigail Pawlett. Pawlett scored 3,796 points in total, with Bee collecting 3,723 points and fellow England team-mate Jessica Hopkins taking bronze with 3,714 points.
South West athlete of the year Bee opened her day with a 9.71m shot putt, which did leave her with a bit of work to do. However, she then ran the fastest time in the 60m hurdles with 8.63 seconds. She then leaped 5.57m in the long jump and 1.65m in the high jump.
The bronze and silver medals were up for grabs going into the 800m, but Bee ran the fastest time of the day with 2:28.75 to secure her podium spot.
With England have their four athletes finish in the top six, they easily won the team award, with Ireland second, Scotland third and Wales fourth.
Earlier in the year Bee also won gold in the 80m hurdles at the SIAB International Championships.
