TWO members of City of Plymouth Trampoline and Gymnastics Club have been selected to represent Great Britain later this year.
Trampoline specialists Nyla Evely and Oscar Piper, who are both 11, will compete for their country at the Loule Cup in Portugal at the start of October.
Evely will be making her debut for Great Britain, while it will be Piper’s second outing for his country after impressing at last year’s Junior World Championships.
Both athletes have already qualified for the British and English Championships, where they will fight for a place on Great Britain’s team for the World Age Group Championships in Russia in November.
Danny Anstey, head coach at City of Plymouth Gymnastics, said: “Their selection is an amazing thing for everyone involved at City of Plymouth. It proves all of our hard work is paying off, with us being able to assist and offer these opportunities to local children in the Plymouth area.”
The club is only in its fourth year and have already had three members earn international selection. As well as Piper and Evely, 15-year-old Ben Miller was selected to represent England at the Frivolton Cup in Sweden in May.
This year the club, which is based at Notre Dame School, have achieved 25 places at national championship events.
