ERME Valley Harriers’ Ronnie Haynes retained the Cornwood 10k title in convincing style on Saturday evening.
Haynes once again dominated the popular race, leading from start to finish.
He came home in a time of 36 minutes and six seconds, which was two-and-a-half minutes ahead of his rivals.
There was a great battle for second place, with Ben Doonan just out-sprinting Storm Plymouth’s Daniel Westlake on the line.
Erme Valley Harriers’ Ben Bristow was fourth with Les Croupiers’ Louise Flynn fifth and first woman in 39.36 minutes. She had also won the title last year.
Second woman was Teignbridge Trotters’ Chloe Olford in 41.29 minutes, with her team-mate Chloe Weeks third.
Teignbridge not surprisingly won the women’s team award, with Erme Valley Harriers claiming the men’s title.
The multi-terrain race, which has been going since 2005, takes athletes around the villages of Cornwood and Lutton. This year there were 194 finishers in the 10k race.
Once again there was also a fun run, which saw Jack Penney claim overall victory for a second year running, while Bluebell McBride also retained the female title.
