TAVISTOCK Athletic Club will host the Devon 10,000m Championships on Wednesday night.

It is the third year running they have held the 25-lap event.

However, this year they will also be holding an open mile event beforehand.

The open mile, which will be four laps of the track, will start at 6.30pm, with the 10,000m championships starting at 7.15pm.

There will be entries on the night for the mile event. The minimum age for that is 11 years-old.

The 10,000m race attracts running from all over the county.

Last year’s winner was Bideford’s Mark Jenkin. Erme Valley Harriers’ Alison McEwing has won the women’s title for the last three years and also won it in 2012.
