PLYMOUTH Leander’s Ben Proud claimed another FINA World Cup medal in Singapore.
The University of St Mark and St John student took bronze in the men’s 50m butterfly final in a time of 22.60 seconds.
He was only beaten by South African swimmers Chad Le Clos (22.30) and Roland Schoeman (22.44) in the short course race.
Proud had won two medals at the Qatar, Dubai and Beijing legs of the World Cup, but had to settle for just the one in Singapore after surprisingly missing out on the final of the 50m freestyle.
The double Commonwealth Games champion clocked 21.98 seconds in the 50m freestyle heats, which was just two hundredths of a second of reaching the final.
He also missed out on a place in the 100m freestyle final with a 49.73 second heat swim.
