A DEPLETED Plymouth Devils side, without three regular team members, lost 61-29 in a Premier League match at Ipswich on Thursday evening.
Number one Brady Kurtz was on World Team Cup duty with Australia, while Sam Simota and Stefan Nielsen were ruled out through injury.
The Devils called up former Ipswich riders Rohan Tungate and Leigh Lanham as replacements, with Tungate scoring nine from five rides at number one while Lanham managed only three (paid four) from six outings in place of Nielsen.
The rider replacement rides for Simota produced only two (paid four) as Ipswich dominated the action by providing all 15 race winners.
Plymouth had skipper Kyle Newman supporting Tungate with eight (paid nine), while improving reserve Ellis Perks weighed in with six paid eight.
But it was a lean night for Australians Jack Holder and Todd Kurtz with Kurtz failing to score, while Holder had only three points from three rides.
Ipswich: Danny King 12 (4 rides), James Sarjeant 6+1 (4), Nico Covatti 10 (4), Morten Risager 10+2 (5), Ben Barker 14+1 (5). Reserves: Joe Jacobs 8+1 (7), Danyon Hume 1 (1).
Plymouth: Rohan Tungate 9 (5), rider replacement for Sam Simota, Kyle Newman 8+1 (6), Todd Kurtz 0 (4), Jack Holder 3 (3). Reserves: Leigh Lanham 3+1 (6), Ellis Perks 6+2 (6).
