Tank sets new PB on way to 1,500m victory at BMC meet at Exeter

POPPY TANK set a new 1,500m personal best on her way to victory at the British Milers Club regional meeting at Exeter on Tuesday night.

The City of Plymouth teenager (pictured top) clocked 4:33.63 to edge out Tavistock’s Tess Masselink for the win.

Masselink, also 18, finished in 4:36.07, which was also a PB for her.

wilsTamar Trotters’ Mike Wilsmore (pictured) took victory in the men’s 800m in a time of 1:52.60. Erme Valley Harriers teenager Nathan Brown was fourth in 2:00.25.

In the women’s 800m, Tavistock’s under-15 athlete Jenny Milburn was third overall and first in her age category in a time of 2:18.32. City of Plymouth’s Elena Sidman was fifth overall and second under-15 home in 2:21.55.

Plymouth triathlete Travis Bramley set a new 1,500m PB of 4:15.02 to take second place in the men’s B race.

There were also 1,500m personal bests for Tavistock athletes Tom Brew (4:23.93, U17), Edward Smart (4:38.89, U15), Oliver Smart (4:49.96, U15), Bradley Stevens (4:53.41, U15) and Oliver Woodmason (5:02.01, U13).
