DARTMOOR Velo riders impressed at the final race of the British Cycling National Cross Country MTB series at Margam Park in Wales.

The fifth round of the series saw three young Dartmoor Velo riders make the podium to continue the Tavistock-based youth cycling club’s highly-successful season.

Bryony Medland came first in the U14 girls’ category to complete her run of winning all five races in the series to take the overall title. She also triumphed in the XCC series.

Also topping the podium in Wales was Sam Medland, who won the under-14 boys’ race to finish second overall in the series.

Meanwhile, Aoife Scawn came second in U16 girls’ category and secured the runner-up place in the series.

The Dartmoor team will now travel to Scotland for the National XC Championships, which will take place at Ae Forest in Dumfries & Galloway over the weekend of July 17-19.
