CITY of Plymouth youngster Benjamin Marriott claimed his first victory in the Armada Summer 5k Series on Wednesday night at Saltram House.
Marriott had finished third in the last two runs in April and May, but he was finally first home in June’s run with a time of 17 minutes and 13 seconds.
He finished 40 seconds ahead of Plymouth Musketeers’ Scott Mansfield, who took second in 17.53 minutes.
Ben Austin was third in 18.15 minutes, with Erme Valley’s Peter Allen fourth in 18.18 and City of Plymouth junior Lucas Sweeney fifth in 18.47 minutes.
Plymstock Road Runners’ Jane Ling was first woman home in 22.59 minutes, with Plymouth Coasters’ Helen Perry-Smith second in 23.12, City of Plymouth’s Hayley Marriott third (23.37), Ruby Gibbons fourth (24.31) and Plymouth Storm’s Rebecca McCallum fifth (24.52).
The third run of the series saw 91 finishers.
