Plymouth Combination are hoping for a good crowd at Brickfields for representative match

THE Plymouth Combination representative side will be back in action on Wednesday night when they play the Plymouth Academicals at Brickfields (7.30pm).

The Academicals side will be made up of the best players from the Peninsula Medical School, University of Plymouth and Marjon University.

It will be the first of two games this month for the Plymouth Combination, who will also take on Torbay Sharks at Teignmouth on May 20.

The Combination hope to have a strong side for both games with players from Devonport Services, Plymstock Albion Oaks, Saltash, Tavistock, Plymouth Argaum, OPMs, Tamar Saracens, Old Techs and Liskeard-Looe likely to be involved.

And they are hoping for a good crowd at Brickfields on Wednesday.

“It would be nice if we could get a big crowd,” said Shaun Bedford-Smith from the Combination. “It’s free entry and it should be a good game.

“It would be nice to think people and all the clubs would come and support as it won’t cost anything.

“They (the Academicals) will be a good side. They have some very good players.”

The Combination have found that players are now keen to represent them again.

“Last year we had a really good game against Torbay Sharks and people want to be involved with the Combination team again,” said Bedford-Smith. “People are keen to play and now we are having to do more of a selection.”
