DEVONPORT Royal’s Charlie Smith and Christopher Rollinson and Caradon’s Helen Kula-Przezwanski were among the medallists at the Swim England Masters’ National Championships (25m) in Sheffield.
Smith starred in the women’s 45-49 age group and returned from Ponds Forge with two titles and two runners-up places.
She won gold medals in the 100m and 200m backstroke. She clocked 1:12.43 to win the 100m and 2:42.46 to triumph in the 200m.
Smith also took silver in the 50m backstroke (33.41) and 100m IM (1:14.38). She also just missed out on another medal in the 50m butterfly, finishing fourth.
Team-mate Rollinson returned home to Plymouth with a silver and a bronze medal. He came second in the men’s 65-69 years’ 800m and came third in the same age group’s 200m butterfly event.
Caradon’s Kula-Przezwanski, a former world masters champion, claimed silver medals in the women’s 60-64 100m backstroke and 100m IM. She clocked 1:22.40 for the IM event and was only beaten by someone three years her junior. She swam 1:23.05 in the 100m backstroke. She also just missed out on a medal in the 50m backstroke and 200m freestyle events.
