Caradon make a splash on their return to competitive swimming

CARADON Swimming Club enjoyed a successful first competition for more than 19 months as they returned home with 61 medals and 109 personal bests from the Tigersharks Autumn Open in Swindon.

Leading the way for them was Jemma Bain, who claimed nine gold medals and one silver.

Not far behind was Kate Mugleston, who picked up seven gold medals and a bronze, while there were six golds and three silvers for Megan Daniel.

A club spokesperson said: “After a very difficult 18 months it was wonderful to have so many personal bests and such support from all the swimmers to each other.

“The swimmers achieved 109 PBs from 19 swimmers, every swimmer got a PB, including Olivia Shute, Megan Daniel and Lucy Aktin who claimed personal bests in nine events.”

The club, who were able to showcase their new kit for the first time, are preparing for next year’s Cornwall County competitions.
