Dartmoor Velo’s Bryony Medland caps memorable first season by winning national title at AE Forest in Scotland

DARTMOOR Velo’s Bryony Medland capped a memorable first year of national racing by being crowned British juvenile short track champion at AE Forest in Scotland.

Bryony made the long trip to the British Cycling National Cross Country championships with a number of her Dartmoor team-mates.

In the short track event she held off the challenge of West Highland Wheelers’ Lily Cant to take the gold medal.

Bryony, who had won the overall national series title, also picked up a silver in the longer event in Scotland.

Sam Medland returned home from Scotland with two silver medals in both juvenile boys’ races. He was just edged out by Shibden’s Tom Craker for both titles. Club colleague Charlie Day came fifth in the same races.

Also making the podium for Dartmoor Velo in Scotland was Aoife Scawn, who won bronze in both the youth female events.
