TAVISTOCK Run Project’s Jordan Andrews set a new personal best on his way to victory in the Dorney Lake Marathon at the weekend.
Andrews clocked 2:25.50 at the 2012 Olympic rowing venue near Windsor.
He finished 44 seconds ahead of Spa Striders’ Ian Allen, who came second in the race that was run in waves, with 443 finishers overall.
Andrews’ previously best for 26.2 miles was 2:31.22, which he clocked at the London Marathon in 2017.
Meanwhile closer to home, James Wickett and Scott Mansfield were half marathon winners at the Plym Trail Winter Marathon weekend.
Plymouth Harriers’ Wickett took victory on the first day in 1:24.58, while Mansfield triumphed on the second day in 1:26.51. Laura D’Allen won both women’s half marathons over the weekend in 1:48.10 and 1:44.44 respectively.
The full marathon events were won by Ross Portass (3:02.53) and Teignbridge’s Kris Ward (3:02.33), with Debbie Burman (3:32.39) and Alice Robinson (3:55.19) finishing as the women’s winners.
