PLYMOUTH’S international hurdler David King enjoyed an impressive opening to his outdoor season at the weekend with a comprehensive victory at the GCU Antelope Invitational in Phoenix, Arizona.
King took the win in 13.58 seconds, which is only 0.1 of a second off his legal personal best that he set in 2017.
The British champion, who has his eyes set on making this summer’s Olympic Games in Tokyo, was delighted with his run and believes he can go faster.
“Yes, very pleased with it,” said King. “And I feel like there is a lot more to come too.”
King will run again in Phoenix this coming weekend and is likely to do more races in America in the next couple of months before returning to Europe.
