GALLERY: Marine Academy Plymouth and Saltash United make FA Cup progress

MARINE Academy Plymouth and Saltash United both progressed in the Women’s FA Cup with wins on Sunday.

Marine Academy demolished lower league cup debutants Ottery St Mary 21-0 at Ivybridge in a one-sided extra preliminary round clash.

The hosts were 12-0 up at half-time and they did not let up after the break.

Samantha Drewery ended the afternoon with six goals – five of which came in the first half.

Izzie Scott was also deadly in front of goal, finishing with five.

Olivia Ramsey bagged two in the first half, while Isla Brumhead netted twice in the second. There were also goals for Emily Jeaton, Beth Everson, Chloe Harris and Jade Bryan, while Ottery also scored an own goal.

Marine Academy will now face St Austell away in the preliminary round on September 20.

Saltash made their debut in the FA Cup and overcame higher league St Agnes 1-0 away. Dani Harper scored the winning goal to set up a next round meeting away at Helston.

Plymouth Argyle Ladies do not enter the competition until later. They continued their pre-season build up with a 4-1 home win over Poole Town.  Katie Middleton, Sophie Reynolds and Emily Mousley scored first half goals to set the Pilgrims on the way to their victory.
