PLYMOUTH Corinthian’s rider Robert Shaw broke the course record for the Ermington Time Trial Series this week.
Shaw, who has qualified for this year’s Ironman 70.3 World Championships in South Africa, clocked an impressive 22 minutes and 55 seconds for the 10 mile out and back event hosted by Plymouth Triathlon Club.
That broke Rob Scott’s course record of 23.19 minutes which was set in December 2013.
It was also Shaw’s fastest time for the event by 26 seconds. The city triathlete had previously won April and May’s races.
Second this month was Alltrax veteran Andrew Parnowski, who clocked 24.01 minutes, Travis Bramley taking third place for the second month running with 24.38. He was also first under-20.
Exeter Triathlon Club’s Marie Faithfull was fastest women in 26.37 minutes.
