CITY of Plymouth’s Dean Smith was first home in January’s Armada Winter 3k Series run on Wednesday night at Central Park.
Smith clocked nine minutes and 50 seconds for the course, which was 47 seconds ahead of Plymouth Musketeers’ veteran Alan Ryder, who was second in 10.37.
Third athlete home was Plymouth Harriers’ Alex Peyton-Jones, who finished in 10:47.
Erme Valley Harriers’ Sam Yearling was just a second behind in fourth, with Plymouth Harriers’ Steve Fletcher fifth in 10.53.
City of Plymouth’s Hayley Harvey was first women home in 11.26 minutes, with Plymouth Harriers pair of Ami Yetton and Jane Allison second and third in 12.00 and 12.03, respectively.

Ryder’s second place on Wednesday night came just days after he won the Plymouth Round Table January Jaunt 10k.
The 52-year-old clocked 36.43 minutes for the run through the Saltram Estate on Sunday to take the title after Declan Cullingford was disqualified.
Second-place in the popular 10k went to Tamar Trotters’ Simon Fitze, who finished in 37.41, with Bodmin’s Clive Ramsden third, Plymouth Musketeers’ Steve Strachan fourth and Plymouth Harriers’ Steve Flecther fifth.
Freya Carlson was first women home in 42.36, with Ruby Orchard second in 43.29 and South Devon’s Gemma Body third in 44.23.
