PLYMOUTH modern pentathletes Myles Pillage and Kerenza Bryson impressed for Great Britain at the Youth A World Championships in Ireland.
Plymouth College head boy Pillage, who will head to Rio next month as part of the Olympic Ambition Programme, finished ninth in the individual men’s final in Limerick and then took sixth in the mixed relay with Olivia Green.
Pillage came through tough qualifying in the individual event, before scoring 1133 points in the final where he was Britain’s top finisher. He particularly impressed in the swimming where he was nearly four seconds quicker than anyone else.
South Korea’s won the men’s competition with 1176 points.
Bryson came 13th in the women’s individual final and then took seventh in the women’s relay with Georgia Hannam.
The 18-year-old scored 993 points in the individual final, which was won by Italy’s Aurora Tognetti with 1058.
