PLYMOUTH will be up against newly-crowned British champion Danny King and former Devils riders Ben Barker and Morten Risager when Ipswich visit St Boniface Arena on Friday evening in the Premier League (7.15pm).
Meanwhile, the Devils will be without skipper Kyle Newman, who is ruled out by injury.
Newman suffered a broken collarbone in a crash during Plymouth’s defeat at Peterborough on Tuesday.
Team manager Lee Trigger said: “At this time it is uncertain how long this will keep him out, but I would imagine we will not see him in a Plymouth race jacket until our home meeting with Redcar on July 22 at the earliest.”
The Devils will operate rider replacement to cover Newman’s absence against Ipswich and also at Rye House on Saturday.
Trigger warns that his side will need to be on their guard against Ipswich despite the Witches being in the bottom three of the Premier League.
He said: “They have got Ben Barker back in their team and he can be a thorn in our side along with the new British champion Danny King and Morten Risager, who rode for us last season.
“So it is not going to be an easy match for us as they have some track specialists, who will keep us on our toes.”
Sheffield-born James Sarjeant will form an opening partnership with King, while Risager is paired with former Argentinean and Italian Champion Nico Covatti.
Completing the visiting line-up at reserve are former Italian under-21 champion Paco Castagna and former British under-19 champion Oliver Greenwood, who has previously ridden for Peterborough, Rye House and Somerset.
Plymouth: Brady Kurtz, rider replacement for Kyle Newman, Sam Simota, Todd Kurtz, Jack Holder. Reserves: Stefan Nielsen, Ellis Perks.
Ipswich: Danny King, James Sarjeant, Nico Covatti, Morten Risager, Ben Barker. Reserves: Paco Castagna, Oliver Greenwood.
