Benson is first home in January’s Winter 3k Series run

AthleticsPHILLIP BENSON was first home in January’s Armada Network Winter 3k Series run at Central Park on Wednesday night.

Harrow athlete Benson, who also runs for City of Plymouth AC, finished in 10 minutes and four seconds, which was exactly the same time as Nathan Brown clocked on his way to victory in December.

Erme Valley Harriers youngster Brown had to settle for third place this month with 10.12.

Plymouth Harriers’ Tom Humphrey was second for the second month running in exactly the same time as he clocked in December – 10.07.

Plymouth University’s Michael Jarvis was fourth in 10.17.

Just before the run started there was a heavy rain storm, but it eased off for the race.

Plymouth Harriers had the first three female runners home.

Ami Yetton led the way with a time of 11.40 minutes, Jane Allison was second female home in 12.25 and team-mate Alicia Rogers clocked 12.58 for third.
