PLYMOUTH Raiders play their first home game of 2016 on Sunday when they entertain Leeds Force in a vital BBL Championship match at the Pavilions (4pm).
A victory over Leeds would massively boost Raiders’ hopes of reaching the BBL play-offs.
The city side currently sit second-from-bottom but they are only two points behind eighth-placed Leeds, who currently fill the final play-off spot.
Raiders are looking to bounce back from their narrow 86-84 away defeat at London Lions last weekend.
“All we need to do to beat Leeds is just play our game, execute our game plan and focus on what we do best as a team, when we do that we are tough to beat,” said Raiders centre Adrien Sturt.
Raiders have picked up form since Daryl Corletto took over from Jay Marriott in October.
Sturt joined Raiders in November and he believes the squad will keep getting better as the season goes on.
He said: “We have really only just got our whole squad a couple of weeks ago so we are all still learning how we all play together, but it’s getting better each week and every practice with both our offence and defence is improving.”
Sunday’s game will see former Raiders player Louis Sayers return to the Pavilions. Sayers scored 20 points for Leeds when they beat Plymouth 91-72 earlier in the season.
