Rose called up into England senior squad for double-header

England_crest_2009.svgPLYMOUTH footballer Jemma Rose has been called up into the England women’s squad ahead of their double-header against Germany and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Former University of St Mark and St John student Rose, who now plays for Arsenal having come through Argyle’s centre of excellence, gets her chance following an injury to Claire Rafferty.

England play European champions Germany in an international friendly on Thursday before taking on Bosnia & Herzegovina in UEFA Women’s Euro 2017 group seven qualifier at Ashton Gate, Bristol, on Sunday (3.30pm).

Former England Under-23 captain Rose has been in senior squads before but is still waiting for her first cap.
