Wilcher hoping Plymouth Raiders can end losing run at Leeds Force

raidersPLYMOUTH Raiders guard Josh Wilcher is hoping the team can end their losing streak on Friday night when they travel to Leeds Force (7.30pm).

Raiders are the only BBL team without a win to their name this season, but they are hoping to put that record straight against the side sitting directly above them.

Leeds currently lie 11th, with two wins out of eight, while Raiders are bottom of the 12-team league having lost their opening five matches.

Raiders did claim victory on their last trip to Leeds and Wilcher is confident they can do the same on Friday, with the team rallying around new coach Daryl Corletto.

“It hasn’t been an ideal start, but the guys and the club are really getting around Daryl and trying to make the transition for him as easy as possible,” said Wilcher. “He is a great leader and someone who can help us a lot going forward.

“We really want to get our first win Friday night.

“We think Leeds are a solid side and they have had some great results this season but for ourselves we want to come out firing and get one under our belts.

“We’re going to have to play a full 40 minutes to get the win against them.”

Raiders do travel to West Yorkshire in the knowledge that they have not lost to Leeds in the BBL.
