PLYMOUTH triathletes Andy Norris and Ken Holder came third in their age categories at the ETU European Long Distance Championships in Weymouth.
Norris took bronze in the 40-44 age group with a time of nine hours, 58 minutes and 22 seconds, while Holder (pictured) clocked 10:03.55 to also make the podium in the 45-49 race.
Athletes swam 2.1 miles, cycled 112 miles and then finished with a full marathon.
Norris, 26th overall, completed the swim in 1:11.28, the cycle in 5:33.07 and the marathon run in 3:07.11. Ludovic Prozet won the 40-44 age group in 9:31.19, with Nick Wheldon second in 9:55.34.
Holder, who was 28th overall, was only beaten in his category by fellow British athlete Joe Duckworth, who finished in 9:41.10, and Madeira’s Paulo Margarido, who came home in 9:51.00.
The Plymouth Tri Club member managed 1:07.46 for the swim, 5:17.06 for the cycle ride and then ran 3:33.49 for the marathon run.
Their team-mate Anya Starling finished fourth in the women’s 30-34 category with a time of 11:58.25, while Dean Crow finished seventh in the 30-34 category and Andy Banfield finished 12th in the same age group.
