THE second Armada Network Summer 5k Series race takes place on Wednesday night at Saltram Park.

The event is a timed run for all levels of runners from 11-year-olds to veteran.

The race starts at 7pm but registration must be completed by 6.45pm. Entry is £2.50.

Torbay Athletic Club’s Peter Monaghan was the quickest in the first race last month, finishing ahead of Ben Moorish and former international marathon runner Stuart Hall. However, Monaghan suffered a muscle injury during Saturday’s Ivybridge 10k and so could be doubtful for Wednesday’s event.

They will be four more races in the series after this week, with one taking place each month until September.
