ERME Valley Harriers’ Ronnie Haynes was first home in Wednesday’s Armada Summer 5k Series run at Saltram House – just days after finishing as runner-up in the Saltash Half Marathon.
Haynes finished May’s multi-terrain 5k event in 17.24 minutes, which was 10 seconds ahead of second-placed Scott Mansfield (Plymouth Musketeers), who had also run the Saltash Half on Sunday.
City of Plymouth youngster Benjamin Marriott, who had finished second in the Saltash 5k on Sunday, was third on Wednesday in 17.38 minutes, with Plymouth Harriers’ James Cartlidge fourth (17.46) and Chris Casey fifth (17.50).
Kirsty Prowse (DSFRS) was first woman home, clocking 20.48 minutes.
City of Plymouth teenager Phoebe Timson was second, 10 seconds behind, with Plymouth Harriers’ Suzie Spooner third in 21.54 minutes, with Zoe Chapman fourth (22.14) and Plymouth Harriers’ Yolanda Garcia-Davies fifth (22.52).
Nearly 140 runners finished the event on a glorious sunny evening.
The next Armada Summer 5k Series run at Saltram House will be held on Wednesday, June 12.
