GALLERY: City of Plymouth youngster Lamerton takes victory in the Plymouth 5k

CITY of Plymouth’s Isaac Lamerton produced a strong run to win the Plymouth 5k race on Sunday.

Lamerton clocked 16.53 minutes to hold off the challenge of Sam Evans by five seconds.

David Weir (City of Plymouth) was third in 17.13, with Plymstock’s Rich Shelley fourth (17.19) and City of Plymouth’s Benjamin Marriott fifth (17.44).

It was a good event for City of Plymouth youngsters as Lucas Sweeney also made the top 10.

Hayley Smith was first women home in a gun-time of 19.49 minutes.

Eleanor Webster was second (21.02), Tegan Mackellor third (21.35), Olivia Gifford fourth (22.25) and Storm’s Georgie Farr fifth (22.33).

City of Plymouth’s Ayla Oracki (6th), Plymouth Harriers’ Nicola Noble (7th), Tavistock AC’s Polly Iddon (8th) and City of Plymouth’s Hayley Marriott (9th) also made the top 10 women.

The shortest race in the Plymouth festival of running saw 393 finishers.
