Ivybridge and Services youngsters warm-up for Medics Rugby Challenge

IVYBRIDGE and Devonport Services under-16s will get the chance to run out at Plymouth Albion’s Brickfields ground in just over a month’s time.

The pair will play each other in a warm-up game for the 11th Medics Rugby Challenge where the Medical Students take on the Royal Marines.

The Medics Rugby Challenge will take place on Tuesday, November 9.  The under-16 match will start at 5.30pm with the main game kicking off at 7.30pm.

Ivybridge and Services met in a precursor for that big match on Sunday at Cross-in-Hand.

The Bridgers, captained by Max Bryan and wearing their new kit, won 24-0.

Services defended really well but Ivybridge took a 10-0 half-time lead with Paul Mears-Baldwin and James Pullen scoring first half tries.

After the interval, George Partridge scored a fine team try from a line-out move involving Ben Winters and Ben Bryan before Ollie Hick added a final try after a neat pass from Nick Lilley. Ben Lavers added two good conversions.
