Plymouth athletes continue to impress across the Atlantic

PLYMOUTH athletes are continuing to impress for universities in America.

Great Britain cross country international Poppy Tank continued her good form on Friday by finishing sixth for a second year running at the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships in University Place, Washington.

Tank was Utah University’s top finisher, clocking an impressive 19:33.80 for the 6k course.

Meanwhile, City of Plymouth team-mate Emily Bee finished third in her first multi-event competition since moving to America.

Bee, competing for Youngstown State, made the podium in the women’s pentathlon in the Indoor Horizon League Track and Field Championships in Fort Wayne.

In her first senior indoor pentathlon, she finished with 3,226 point, which was enough to finish as the top fresher. She also set a new PB of 8.99 seconds competing in the individual 60m hurdles event. She won her heat before finishing seventh in the final.
