MOUNT Kelly’s director of swimming Emma Collings-Barnes says she is delighted that Oliver Taverner and Harry Noble will be earning international honours for Great Britain this summer.
The pair have been named in British Swimming’s 30-strong squad for the European Junior Championships in Kazan, Russia.
They are joined in the team by Plymouth College and Leander swimmers Honey Osrin and Sophie Freeman.
Breaststroke specialist Taverner and backstroke star Noble, who came through Devonport Royal’s junior set-up, both impressed at the recent British Swimming Championship in Glasgow, where they reached senior finals.
Mount Kelly’s Collings-Barnes said: “I am delighted with Harry and Oliver’s selection for the European Junior Championships.
“Both boys are a true testament that the road is not always smooth however if you remain consistent and believe, success will come.
“Both Harry and Oliver are hoping to go onto Loughborough University to study next year, and this will give them both valuable international experience in their transition into senior swimming.”
