TOM DALEY eased into the final of the men’s 10m individual event at the World Championships in Budapest on Friday evening.
Daley, who won the title as a 15-year-old in 2009, dived consistently through both the preliminary round and the semi-finals.
He finished second in the semi-final behind Russian Aleksandr Bondar with 498.65 points.
The Plymothian was third in the prelims behind the Chinese pair of Aisen Chen and Jian Yang with 515.10 points. He even managed one 10 on his penultimate four-and-a-half somersault tuck effort in the morning session.
The final will take place on Saturday at 4pm. Two hours before that event, Daley will dive in the mixed three-metre final with Grace Reid.
