SOUTH Brent Judo Club enjoyed tremendous success at the recent Edinburgh International Sportif.

Eight members of the club attended the prestigious event as part of the West Area squad and they all returned with medals.

The competition at the Meadowbank Sports Centre attracts more than 500 athletes from 14 nations and also forms part of the National Ippon League.

Josh Shipp (U46kg) and Cerys Callard (U40kg) won gold medals, while there were silvers for Tom Smith (U50kg), Cordelia Gregory (O63kg) and Lewis Widdicombe (U81kg).

Adam Vosper (U50kg), Pierre Michelin (U66kg) and Max Gregory (U90kg) picked up bronze medals.

The squad thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were grateful for all the support given to them by Simon Ward (Western Area coach), Andy McMurray, Lisa and Rich Oram.
