PLAYERS from Devonport Services and Tavistock have secured places in the South West girls’ rugby squads.
All Devonport Services’ representatives come in the under-18 section, where prop Jess Thomas, flanker Megan Heath, number eight Daisy French and centre Boo Berry all successfully came through trials at the weekend.
Club team-mate Lizzie Cole, who featured for the region last year, could also yet be added to the party if she recovers from concussion.
Meanwhile, Tavistock lock Jemima Cameron (pictured), a Year 10 student at Devonport High School for Girls, was named in the South West under-15 squad, along with four other Devon players.
Seventy-two girls from eight South West counties were invited to attend the under-15 trials at Frome, with just 28 making the final cut.
The South West girls’ squads are set to have two training camps in February and March with two matches in April and one in May against the North, Midlands and London & South East.
