Plymouth Devils complete their away programme away at Edinburgh

Devils logoPLYMOUTH Devils will complete their away fixtures for the season when they visit Edinburgh on Friday evening.

The Devils will race their Premier League match as the second part of a double header with Redcar taking on the Monarchs in the first match of the evening, which starts at 7pm. The Plymouth fixture is expected to get under way at around 8.30pm.

The Plymouth line-up will show a positional change from the side in action against Somerset last weekend with Steve Boxall dropping down to reserve because of the new averages in operation for September.

Devils team manager Lee Trigger said: “We have not yet seen Steve achieve what he can do. To be fair, he has had a lot of catching up to do as he has not been riding all season. If he finds his true form, he can be a trump card for us at reserve.”

Although Plymouth have nothing at stake apart from trying to finish as high up the table as possible Trigger stresses that his side will be looking to take something from their visit to Scotland.

He said: “Our mathematical chance of reaching the play-offs ended with last weekend’s defeats by Somerset. But we still have three meetings left and we will be going all out to finish as high as we can.

“There is no pressure on us now, but we are certainly not going all the way up to Edinburgh to make up the numbers.”

Plymouth: Jack Holder, Stefan Nielsen, Sam Simota, Todd Kurtz, Kyle Newman. Reserves: Steve Boxall, Ellis Perks.
