PLYMOUTH Tri Club’s Ken Holder won a silver medal at the ETU Challenge Long Distance Triathlon Championships in Poland at the weekend.
Holder took his podium finish in the men’s 45-49 age category, clocking a personal best time of nine hours, nine minutes and 59 seconds for the tough event, which involved a 3.8km swim, a 180km bike ride and a marathon run to finish.
The Plymouth athlete completed the swim in 44.37 minutes, the bike ride in 4:49.50 and the run in 3:31.37.
He was only beaten in his age category by Poland’s Sylwester Zydkiewicz, who finished in a total time of 9:00.58.
Portugal’s Paulo Margarido was third in 9:26.45.
