Runners are not short of events to select from over the coming days

Tavistock relays 2015

THE running community will not be short of events to do over the next few days.

Wednesday evening sees July’s Armada Summer 5k Series run at Saltram Park.

The race starts at 7pm, but registration must be completed by 6.45pm.

Then 24 hours later there are the popular Tavistock Relays around Meadows Park.

That event, hosted by Tavistock Athletic Club, sees clubs enter teams of four, with each runner completing a 1.1 mile circuit. As well as the adults relays there are also junior ones and a fun run.

The fun run starts at 6.30pm, with the junior relays beginning at 6.45pm and then the main relays going off at 7.30pm.

For runners looking for a bit more of a challenge, then on Saturday there is the Haytor Heller (6.30pm). That tough six miles run over some of the highest parts of Dartmoor is strictly limited to 350 runners and there are only around 70 places left. Anyone interested in trying to secure a spot, can find the information HERE.

Meanwhile, on Sunday morning, Tamar Trotters host their annual Magnificent 7 race (11am).

The seven-mile road race has a new course this year, described as ‘very hilly’.

They will have a one-and-a-half mile fun run at 10.15am.

More information on that race can be found HERE
