CITY of Plymouth star Simon Anderson claimed three titles in one day at the South West Veterans’ Championships at Exeter on Sunday.
Club team-mates Clare Taylor and Stephen Blackford also set new age group records at the competition.
European Masters’ champion Anderson won the over-50 400m, 800m and 1,500m.
He ran a season’s best 60.76 seconds for the 400m, clocked 2:10.89 in the 800m and 4:35.38 for the 1,5000m.
Taylor’s record came in the women’s over-45 hammer where she threw 36.60m. She also won the shot putt with an effort of 9.04m.
Blackford’s championship record came in the men’s over-50 400m hurdles, which he ran in 85.02 seconds.
Fellow City of Plymouth athlete Jerry Kevern came away with two titles. He won the over-45 men’s 100m in 12.80 seconds and the long jump in 4.42m
Club colleague John Porter came second in the over-40 5,000m in a time of 16:27.29, while Tavistock’s Robert Chapman won the over-65 800m in 2:51.18 and took silver in the 1,500m in 5:46.72.
