Devils continue poor form on the road with defeat at Peterborough

Devils logoPLYMOUTH Devils continued their frustrating time on their travels with a 55-34 Premier League defeat at Peterborough after skipper Kyle Newman withdrew from the meeting following a crash in his second outing on Tuesday evening.

The Devils were trailing by six points after six heats when Newman was caught by home reserve Zdenek Holub in heat seven.

Although Newman got to his feet, he left the track by ambulance and did not take any further part in the meeting. Holub was excluded for his part in the collision.

Todd Kurtz and Jack Holder put up some spirited opposition, scoring 18 of their side’s 34 points between them.

It was a disappointing evening for number one Brady Kurtz, who won his first outing but failed to score another point in his four remaining races.

Peterborough: Craig Cook 11+1 (5 rides), rider replacement for Tom Perry, Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen 10 (5), Emil Grondal 8+3 (5), Ulrich Ostergaard 11 (5). Reserves: Simon Lambert 12+2 (6), Zdenek Holub 3+2 (4).

Plymouth: Brady Kurtz 3 (5), Todd Kurtz 10+1 (4), Sam Simota 2+1 (4), Kyle Newman 3 (2), Jack Holder 8 (5). Reserves: Stefan Nielsen 7 (7), Ellis Perks 1 (3).
