Plymouth Albion to play Camborne, Ivybridge and Redruth in pre-season

Albion Brickfields

PLYMOUTH Albion have announced three pre-season matches against lower opposition ahead of the start of the 2016/17 National One campaign.

Previous coach Graham Dawe had pencilled in games against Championship sides Jersey and the Cornish Pirates when he was making plans for the new season.

Albion had been due to host the Pirates on August 12 before visiting them on August 27.

However, it appears those games, like the Jersey fixture, will no longer happen.

Instead, Albion will host newly-promoted National Three South West side Camborne on Sunday, August 14, before hosting their league rivals Ivybridge four days later on Thursday, August 18.

They will then travel to National Two South side Redruth on August 27.

It remains to be seen if Albion, who start their league campaign at home to Cambridge on September 3, will look to add any more warm-up matches in at a later day.
