Albion and Navy player Raumakita to miss rest of the season due to suspension

Seti RaumakitaPLYMOUTH Albion’s Royal Navy player Seti Raumakita will miss the rest of the season after receiving a six-week suspension by an RFU hearing on Tuesday night.

The winger/flanker was cited for dangerous play by Blackheath following Albion’s 20-19 win at Brickfields in March.

Raumakita would not have been available to Albion for the rest of the season anyway as he was due to join up with the Royal Navy squad this week ahead of their Inter-Service Championships matches against the RAF and Army.

However, he will miss those games and also the opening two matches of Cornwall’s County Championship campaign. He will not be available to play against until May 15.

“It is very disappointing for the player,” said Albion boss Graham Dawe. “But something occurred that the panel felt fit to punish.”

It remains to be seen if Raumakita will play again for Plymouth.

The future of all Albion’s players and coaching staff is still unclear following a takeover of the club at the end of last week.
