PLYMOUTH Leander’s Kregor Zirk continued his good form at the Stockholm Open with a seventh-placed finish in the 200m butterfly competition.
The 16-year-old Plymouth College pupil had set Estonian national senior records in the 50 and 100m butterfly events in the previous two days and he was not far off claiming a third.
Zirk clocked 2:02.66 for the 200m event, which just half-a-second off the current Estonian record for that distance.
Mindaugas Sadauskas came fifth in the men’s 100m freestyle final in a time of 49.96 seconds, while Leander’s Yael Danieli was ninth in the 200m backstroke with 2:20.88.
Leander’s Olympic champion Ruta Meilutyte will go in the 100m breaststroke event on Saturday, having won gold in the 50m race in a world leading time on Thursday.
