TAMAR Trotters host their ‘challenging’ Magnificent 7 race on Sunday (11am).

The annual event starts and finishes at Saltash Rugby Club on Moorlands Lane and organisers are hoping to reach their 500 runner limit.

More than 350 runners have pre-entered, while there will be limited entries available on the day for the seven-mile race, which forms part of the Cornish Grand Prix Series.

The men’s course record of 38.14 has stood for 15 years. It was set in 2000 by Newquay’s Shaun Milford. The women’s record was only set two years ago by veteran international Emma Stepto, who has been the first female home for the past six years.

Prior to the main race there will be a 1.5 mile fun run, starting at 10.15am.
