Adams relishing his first match in charge of Plymouth Argyle

argyleDEREK ADAMS will take charge of Plymouth Argyle for the first time tonight when the Pilgrims play Elburton Villa in their opening pre-season match at Haye Road (7.30pm).

Scotsman Adams, who replaced John Sheridan as manager in the summer, says his team are eager to impress against their Peninsula League hosts.

“I think you are always wanting to get your first minutes under your belt at pre-season,” said Adams, who has made five signings since arriving at Argyle.

“You want to get the strip on and get some game time, and the new signings are no different from the players that were here last season. Everybody is out to impress not only the coaching staff, but the supporters.”
