PLYMOUTH Albion fly-half Declan Cusack has been nominated for the RFU Championship’s player of the month for February.
The Irishman, who is club captain at Brickfields, helped Albion to a hard-fought home draw with London Scottish and a one-point win over Jersey last month – results that have given Plymouth hope of avoiding relegation.
All February’s candidates for the monthly award are backs, with London Scottish fly-half Peter Lydon, Doncaster wing Dougie Flockhart and Worcester Warriors stand-off Ryan Mills the other nominees.
The winner will be decided by public vote, which will close on Wednesday, March 11, with the winner announced on Friday, March 13. To vote visit EnglandRugby.com/champ-potm.
Albion, meanwhile, return to action on Saturday after a weekend off following their 18-17 win over Jersey when they travel to league leaders Worcester Warriors.
Plymouth have not beaten Worcester in the professional era, losing all five league meetings and a British & Irish Cup game since 2003.
The sides last met in November when Dean Ryan’s side triumphed 22-10 at Brickfields.
Albion will have to make at least one change to their team that beat Jersey in their last outing as dual-registered Worcester winger will not be allowed to feature against his parent club.
